What are they:
$1-$2 Mud/Gel masks available at most drugstores. They come in multiple colors, smells and functions. While some are face brighteners, others are hydraters, pore cleansers, and even “anti-aging”
What do they do: Rehydarte the skin and help bring it back to life and are just fun to use.
Do they work: HECK YEAH! (Some better then others depending on your skin and needs)
Why do I love them: Because they are so darn cheap! Pop one of those packets and BAM within 20 minutes your face will thank you 🙂
Final Word of Advise: If you are a product snob, then I’m sorry this might not be for you because lets face it, a home facial just isn’t the same as a professional one. HOWEVER, if you’re like me and don’t mind trying out new things, go pick up one of these delicious smelling face packs and give them a try 🙂
Continuing on with MASCARA MONDAY, if you read my previous post, then you know that I was purging through my makeup this past weekend. As I was reminiscing and rediscovering some long lost treasures, I found this HORRENDOUS product, so I just had to warn all my fellow bloggers.
This product was advertised as “the next big thing.” With its double twisted brushes, this mascara promised to give oodles of volume while separating and lengthening the lashes. What it really did was make a huge gloopy mess and ended up at the bottom of my makeup drawer 😦
Formulation: The actual formula of the product was soooo wierd! It was thick, dry and chalky. It was messy and got all over the place.
Wand: I think structurally this is where the problem is with this product. While one set of brushes is supposed to add volume the other set is supposed to lengthen. The odd mix of synthetic and rubber bristles was not a good mix.
Overall: NO NO NO NO!!!!!! AVOID AVOID AVOID!! Too buLky, too dry, too messy! Instead of fabulous long lashes it gave 4 goopy spider lashes!!!
If anyone has gotten this product to work for them, please leave a comment below and let me know HOW!!? 🙂
Okie dokie, so I got bored this weekend so I went through my piles and piles of makeup to see which ones would be worth talking about. After digging through my mascaras, I came upon this green mascara and at first I was like “What the..?” and then it hit me “ooohhhh yeeeahh, that one!”
This is the Revlon Grow Luscious Mascara. It is advertised the first Revlon mascara that helps lashes grow stronger while visibly adding length and volume.
Product: duh…its a mascara 🙂 Basic tube and wand. The wand has elongated, conical shaped synthetic fibers that help add volume and legnth to the lashes.
Pricing: $4-$7 USD depending on location and availability
Overall: This mascara was okay, and I think that is why I forgot about it. I’ve been re-using this mascara for the past week and while it doesn’t give my lashes that dramatic flare that I like, I do appeciate the subtle “naturally pretty lashes” look that it gives me. The wand is ridiculously long and it it longer then my eye, but I think that is what helps coat all the littlle lashes I have on my outter edge, giving me a lovely elongated flared look. As far as helping my lashes grow stronger, ennngghhh, not so sure, but my lashes do look softer with this product on versus other mascaras.
This picture was taken after a 16 hour work day, and my lashes are still slightly flared at the ends.I would recommend this mascara for those looking for a “natural” but flared kind of look.

My fellow bloggers, I am in a very unhealthy relationship. One week we are very happy and everything is great but the next week it’s all downhill and I feel like I need to move on and find another. Oh…woops….did I forget to mention I am talking about makeup remover face wipes 🙂
Product: So I am sure most of you know about the Neutrogena Face Wipes by now. They are pre-soaked face wipes that gently and quickly remove all (or at least most) of your makeup. Usually it takes me one and half sheets to get most of the residue off my face and even then I still like to wash my face with a face wash to clean out all my pores. The wipes come in multiple formulations. You can buy the normal ones, acne prone cleansing wipes and oil free wipes.
Packaging: The sheets usually come in a plastic box that you can refill with the refill packages, or you can choose to buy just the refill packets. There are about 25 sheets per refill.
Price: Anywhere form $5 USD and up. It depends on the size of the package, location and availability.
Overall: Ok so here is my dilemma, I really like this product, I think it does a great job on removing my foundation. However, the price is what gets me. I normally pay about $6.99 for one refill packet and it lasts me about a two to three weeks depending on how much makeup I wear. This means I invest anywhere from $7- $20/month on just face wipes! Uh…no! It doesn’t seem like a lot to some but for a girl on a STRICT budget, face wipes are a luxury not a necessity. Plus on top of that, I also use normal baby wipes which are 80 wipes per package and cost me $2 USD! So do I continue to invest in overpriced wipes that do the job or settle for decent baby wipes that I can just wet with eyemakeup remover that work almost as well?
I think I will settle for the baby wipes. 🙂 🙂 🙂
Why oh why do I do this to myself? If I didn’t like the product the first time, what made me think I would like it in a different form?
For those of you that read my post on the Revlon Photoready Foundation, you know that I called it “glitter in a glass bottle.” Well everyone meet that foundations sister “compressed glitter in a can.”
Packaging: It comes in an aerosol type can that you push on top to dispense the product. While this is a great idea for those of us that do not want to be unhygienic, the pump has no control, meaning I push it once and even after I let go, product still oozes out.
Product: The product is a mousse consistency and very airy to the touch. It blends very well into the skin but you have to be quick because it dries fairly quickly and will streak if you try to blend it after its dry
Coverage: I would consider this medium coverage. It covers minor blemishes and discolorations but anything more obvious and it kind of cakes around the blemish and makes it stick out.
Pricing: Too much! I paid $14.99 but I returned it, so if you want to try it, buy it on sale or a BOGO sale.
Overall: I wanted to like this product so much, I really did. It felt great on the skin almost non-existent, but my problem was the darn glitter again. My skin is already oily and shiny so I definitely do not want a product that helps me shine like a disco ball. However, to be fair I tried this product on my sister who has dry skin and it look great on her. My only suggestion for dry skin would be to MOISTURIZE because the foam sticks to ever pore, blemish, and piece of dry skin. This product is best left for the few people who have near perfect skin but just want some minor color and coverage.
Oh yeah, like advertised it looks good in pictures

Sigh…they got me again you guys. Those evil genius’ at Walgreen’s knew I was coming so they put this pretty pink product right on checkout counter because they knew I wouldn’t be able to resist it. But isn’t it so pretty! See so you can’t really blame me for buying something I didn’t need 🙂
Product: What this essentially is, is an overpriced tinted lip balm. it goes on smooth and is VERY moisturizing and the slight hint of color and baby shimmer make the lips look refreshed and pouty. Although the color pay off is very minimal, it can be built up depending on what shade you purchase.
I purchased Mauve, and this is after a few swipes of color.
Container: It comes in a basic lipstick form. There is nothing special with the packaging but the soft color caps make the product not look cute but very sleek as well. It almost looks like the Dior Lip Balm.
Pricing: Ughhh…..Alright I paid $7.99!! I know, I know, but I told you it was an impulse purchase.
Overall: I really like this product! Besides the sleek, high-end look of the packaging, the lip balm is very mositurizing, long-lasting and the color pay off is soft and natural. So my dear readers, if you have the money or if you can find this product on sale, go ahead give it a try

These are some of the most underrated drugstore blushes! Growing up, I always thought of Wet n’ Wild as the cheap brand with cheap products. However, I can gladly say that has changed. My fellow bloggers, if you have not gotten your hand on these blushes, then RUN and get yourself some! These are fantastic!!!
Product: These blushes are SOOOO pigmented it’s crazy! The product is so soft, that just with one swipe and you get such vibrant color payoff. Normally I love to pile on the blush because, well, I love blush 🙂 but with these blushes I have to be careful because a little most definitely goes a long way. The color selection is also great. I have everything from a baby doll pink color to a hot red!
Packaging: Alright, so here’s the one draw back. The packaging is kinda lame :(. The blushes come in a rectangular plastic container and the lid opens up. Although not totally bad, I can be careless sometimes with my products and whenever I have dropped these blushes on hard floors the top has fallen off and the blushes have shattered. Also included is a blush brush, which isn’t half bad if you have nothing else to use.
Overall: Why are you still sitting there? Go and get one! 🙂
